DD24 is discontinuing its Virtual Private Server (VPS) service. If you currently have a VPS with us, your service will not stop immediately, but you will need to back up your data and, if required, move to another hosting provider before your VPS ends.
This article explains the discontinuation timeline, what happens to your VPS and data, refunds, backups, support availability, and the actions you need to take.
Important dates at a glance
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| 31 August 2026 | General VPS technical support ends. After this date, support is limited to assistance with available backup and data export options. |
| 31 August 2026 | VPS renewals end. Existing VPS services cannot be renewed after this date. |
| 31 December 2026 | All remaining VPS services are permanently discontinued. No VPS can remain active beyond this date. |
Important: Back up and move any data you need before your VPS expiration date. Once your VPS is terminated, it cannot be renewed or restored.
About the VPS discontinuation
Why is DD24 discontinuing its VPS service?
As part of our ongoing product strategy, we have decided to discontinue our Virtual Private Server (VPS) offering.
This allows us to focus on other products and services while giving existing VPS customers time to prepare for the end of the service.
When will the VPS service be discontinued?
Your existing VPS can remain active until the earlier of:
- the end of your current paid subscription period; or
- 31 December 2026, when the VPS service will be permanently discontinued.
VPS renewals will no longer be available after 31 August 2026.
This means that 31 December 2026 is the latest possible date on which a DD24 VPS can remain active.
Example
If your current VPS subscription expires on 15 October 2026, your VPS will end on 15 October 2026.
If your subscription would normally expire on 15 February 2027, your VPS will instead end on 31 December 2026. You will receive a pro-rated refund for the unused paid subscription period after 31 December 2026.
Can I still purchase a new VPS?
No. New VPS registrations are no longer available.
I already have a VPS. Will it stop immediately?
No.
Your VPS will continue to operate until the earlier of:
- the end of your current paid subscription period; or
- 31 December 2026.
You can continue using your VPS until that date, but we strongly recommend preparing your backup and migration as early as possible.
VPS renewals and billing
Will my VPS renew automatically?
No.
VPS renewals will no longer take place after 31 August 2026.
If your current subscription expires after renewals have ended, your VPS service will terminate on its applicable expiration date and cannot be renewed.
Can I manually renew or extend my VPS?
No.
VPS renewals and extensions are no longer available. You will not be able to extend your VPS beyond its applicable end date.
If you need VPS hosting after your DD24 service ends, you will need to arrange hosting with another provider.
Will I continue to be charged for my VPS?
No renewal charges will be made after your VPS reaches the end of its applicable service period.
If your paid subscription extends beyond 31 December 2026, the VPS will still terminate on 31 December 2026 and you will receive a pro-rated refund for the unused paid period after that date.
Can I receive a refund?
If your current paid subscription expires on or before 31 December 2026, your VPS will remain available until the end of that paid subscription period and no pro-rated refund is due for that period.
If your paid subscription would normally continue after 31 December 2026, your VPS will terminate on 31 December 2026. You will receive a pro-rated refund for the unused paid portion of your subscription after 31 December 2026.
Your VPS expiration date
How can I find out when my VPS expires?
Please check the current subscription or expiration date associated with your VPS.
We will also notify you before your VPS reaches its expiration date so that you have time to prepare, back up your data, and arrange alternative hosting if required.
Do not wait until the final day to create your backup or begin a migration.
What happens on my VPS expiration date?
When your VPS reaches its applicable expiration date:
- your VPS service will be terminated;
- your server will no longer be accessible;
- you will no longer be able to use the applications, websites, databases, files, or other services hosted on that VPS;
- the VPS cannot be renewed or restored; and
- data associated with the terminated VPS will be permanently deleted within the following 30 days.
If you need any files, databases, configurations, application data, or other information stored on the VPS, make sure you have a backup before the VPS expires.
Backups and your data
What happens to my data after my VPS expires?
Once your VPS expires, the server will be terminated and will no longer be accessible.
Data associated with the terminated VPS will be permanently deleted within the following 30 days.
You should not rely on this period as a backup or recovery window. Once the VPS has been terminated, we cannot guarantee that your data will remain available or can be recovered.
Back up all data you want to keep before your VPS expiration date.
What should I back up?
You are responsible for identifying and preserving the data you need.
Depending on how you use your VPS, this may include:
- website files and content;
- databases;
- application files and application data;
- server and application configuration files;
- uploaded files and media;
- email data, if applicable;
- SSL/TLS certificates or related configuration;
- scheduled jobs and scripts;
- access or deployment configuration; and
- any other files or information you need to recreate your services with another provider.
After creating a backup, we recommend checking that it contains the information you need before your VPS is terminated.
How can I obtain a backup of my VPS?
If you need assistance with an available backup or data export option, please contact DD24 Customer Support before your VPS expires.
Our team can assist you with the available export options.
For the best chance of completing your backup successfully, contact us as early as possible rather than waiting until your VPS expiration date.
Can I request a backup after my VPS has expired?
You should request and complete your backup before your VPS expires.
Once your VPS has been terminated, we cannot guarantee that its data will still be available or recoverable. Data associated with the VPS will be permanently deleted within 30 days following termination.
For this reason, do not rely on being able to request or recover a backup after expiration.
Can DD24 restore my VPS after it has expired?
No.
Once the VPS has been terminated, the service cannot be renewed or restored.
Make sure you have completed any required backup or migration before the expiration date.
Moving to another VPS or hosting provider
Do I need to move to another provider?
If you want to continue running the websites, applications, databases, or other services currently hosted on your DD24 VPS after your VPS expires, you will need to arrange alternative hosting.
You should allow enough time to:
- choose a new hosting provider;
- create and verify your VPS backup;
- configure your new hosting environment;
- transfer your files, applications, databases, and configuration;
- test that your services work correctly in the new environment; and
- update DNS or other settings where required.
We recommend completing this process before your DD24 VPS expiration date to reduce the risk of service interruption.
Will DD24 migrate my VPS to another provider?
No.
DD24 will not provide a VPS migration service. Customers are responsible for arranging migration to another hosting provider.
Customer Support can assist with the available backup and data export options, but cannot perform the migration to your new provider.
Can DD24 recommend another VPS provider?
This discontinuation does not automatically transfer your VPS to another hosting provider.
You are responsible for selecting an alternative provider that meets your technical and business requirements.
Customer Support
Will VPS Customer Support still be available?
General VPS support will be available until 31 August 2026.
After 31 August 2026 VPS support will be limited to assistance relating to available data export and backup options.
This means that after this date, we will not provide general technical troubleshooting or ongoing VPS support.
Can Customer Support help me migrate?
No.
Customer Support cannot perform a migration to another hosting provider.
Where available, the team can assist with backup or data export options so that you can obtain the data you need before your VPS expires.
When should I contact Customer Support?
Contact Customer Support before your VPS expires if you require assistance with the available backup or data export options.
Please do not wait until the expiration date. Allow sufficient time to obtain your data and complete any migration you need.
What you need to do now
If you currently have a DD24 VPS, we recommend completing the following steps as soon as possible:
- Check your VPS expiration date. Confirm when your current paid subscription ends.
- Identify the data you need to keep. Review your files, databases, applications, configurations, and other server data.
- Create a backup. Complete your backup before the VPS expiration date.
- Verify your backup. Check that the backup contains the files and data you will need.
- Choose another hosting provider if required. If you need your websites, applications, or other services to continue operating, arrange alternative hosting.
- Plan and complete your migration. Move and test your services before your DD24 VPS expires.
- Contact Customer Support early if you need backup assistance. Do not wait until your VPS has already expired.
Do not wait until 31 December 2026 unless that is your actual VPS end date. Your individual VPS may expire earlier based on your current paid subscription.

You are responsible for arranging the migration with your chosen provider. DD24 Customer Support can only assist with available backup and data export options.
Will my website continue working after my VPS expires?
No, not if the website depends on the terminated VPS.
When your VPS expires, the server will no longer be accessible. Any websites, applications, databases, or other services running from that VPS may therefore stop working.
If you want them to remain available, migrate them to alternative hosting and complete any required configuration or DNS changes before your VPS expires.
What if I do nothing?
When your applicable VPS expiration date arrives, the VPS will be terminated and will no longer be accessible.
The VPS cannot be renewed or restored, and its associated data will be permanently deleted within the following 30 days.
If you need anything stored on your VPS, back it up before the service expires.
Can I recover my data during the 30 days after termination?
Do not rely on the 30-day deletion period as a recovery period.
After your VPS is terminated, DD24 cannot guarantee that your data will remain accessible or recoverable. The 30-day period describes when data will be permanently deleted; it does not guarantee that customers can access or recover the terminated VPS during that time.
Complete your backup before the VPS expires.
What is the last possible date my DD24 VPS can operate?
31 December 2026.
No DD24 VPS service will remain active after this date.
Your individual VPS may terminate earlier if your current paid subscription expires before 31 December 2026.

We recommend starting your backup and migration preparations as early as possible to help ensure a smooth transition.
